Chandra Kambhamettu
Dr. Kambhamettu is interested in the analysis and understanding of the shape and motion of tongue and vocal tract during speech. Image analysis research is being done in the video/image modeling and synthesis (VIMS) lab., where they extracts VT and tongue surfaces from Multi-modal data and perform reconstruction, registration, and motion analysis. Current imaging modalities they use are Ultrasound and MRI. One of their developed software tools, EdgeTrak, performs real time tracking of tongue contours from ultrasound and MR imagery.
